CANADA-ASIA PACIFIC CO-PRODUCTION ACCELERATOR (CAPCA)
Apply to Canada-Asia Pacific Co-Production Accelerator (CAPCA) today!
RESO in partnership with SLL, funded by Canada Media Fund (CMF), is excited to launch its first Canada-Asia Pacific Co-Production Accelerator (CAPCA). We’re inviting 4-8 participants to participate in our first ever cohort of Canadian writers and producers interested in expanding their professional horizons into the Asia-Pacific.
This program is geared towards mid-career creative professionals who are serious about coproduction. Project case studies will look at how to get a scripted TV project ready for international co-production, and the CAPCA cohort will work closely with faculty leads and SLL’s global production team to unpack the creative, business affairs, legal/IP, sales/distribution.
Applications open from February 12 through 26, with the program beginning in April 2025.
About the Program
CAPCA is an innovative 12-week program tailored for racialized Canadian creators in streaming and TV. Designed to unlock the potential of international collaboration, CAPCA focuses on building the skills and networks you need to navigate South Korea’s dynamic media market, and the broader Asia-Pacific market.
Presented in partnership with South Korea’s powerhouse studio SLL, RESO is thrilled to offer this opportunity to 4-8 Canadian producers and writers. Applicants can submit their interest in two ways:
with their own original series/IP (scripted, ½ hour or full hour); or
work on an adaptation of an existing series/IP from SLL.
*If you would like to apply for both options noted above, you will need to submit two separate project packages in the application form and two application fees.
A total of four projects (2 originals and 2 adaptations) will be selected to serve as case studies in the program. We invite proponents to apply as individuals, or apply in teams of two (i.e., writer + producer).
You’ll gain the knowledge, connections, and confidence to bring your co-production projects to life, positioning yourself—and your work—on the global stage.
Faculty leads for CAPCA are industry experts Janice Chua and Sean Dulake (Third Culture Content), and includes a field week (late May 2025) in Seoul, South Korea, where project workshops will be held at SLL’s studio, as well as feature production facilities tours. Projects will be featured at EXNW 2025 - taking place July 18-20, 2025 in Vancouver, BC. Travel support and a producer stipend is included.
